Summer Shipping (& shipping to warmer climates)
During summer months and when shipping to warmer climates we bill according to our normal shipping rates plus a MINIMUM handling fee of $5.00 (depending on the size of your order and the number of packages required to ship additional handling fees may be billed separately) to cover the added expense of ice packs and extra packing material required to prevent the products from melting . MOST shipping is done via USPS Priority Mail. However, we reserve the right to ship via next day or 2 day shipping to some locations (ex. CA & TX) with shipping fees based on weight, ship to address, and extra packaging materials required. In such cases actual shipping fees will apply (in addition to packing material costs) and may be billed separately. If shipping fees are more than what is quoted on the invoice we will contact you for approval BEFORE shipping your order and/or billing your credit card. Please do not send payment (if paying via check or money order) until we have confirmed the shipping rate.
Please note that even with shipping via next day, 2 day or 3 day we do NOT guarantee the chocolates will not melt. Shipping during these times is at buyers risk.
International Orders
We are not accepting International orders at this time.
Payment Options
Generally, you will receive a final total at checkout. However, due to the perishable nature of our products, there may be an additional fee to cover shipping & handling fees. In this case, you will be notified BEFORE your credit card (if electing this payment option) is charged and BEFORE shipment has been made.
We are currently set up to accept the following forms of payment: M/C, Visa, AmEx, Discover, Paypal, Checks and Money Orders. We do not ship orders COD. No orders are shipped without receipt of payment. Please do not send cash through the mail. We will not be responsible for lost cash. Orders paid for with a check will be held and shipped only after the check has cleared our bank.
Our Paypal® email address is melodie@thechocolateworks.com .. When sending payment via paypal please be sure to include your order or customer number that appears on your confirmation email or order statement.
We do NOT extend credit terms. Due to the nature of our product payment must be made before delivery or shipment of all orders.

When making payment with a check or money order please be sure to print out and mail a copy of your order statement along with your payment. Also, please note the order or customer number in the memo section of your payment. This will help avoid any confusion and ensure a timely delivery of your order.
There will be a $30 fee for all returned payments for any reason including but not limited to insufficient funds.
Returns/Refunds/Exchanges
We do not offer Returns/Refunds/Exchanges for problems caused by the package carrier. We use confirmation numbers to track and confirm the receipt of all packages. If we are able to confirm a package has been delivered using these tracking numbers, we will not be held responsible for missing packages.
We are not responsible for melted chocolates. Consumers purchase products to be shipped at their own risk during summer months and to warmer climate states.

Please be assured that none of your personal information (including, but not limited to: name, address, email address, phone number, email address, credit card information, bank account information, etc.) will ever be shared with anyone. All information gathered is for our use only.
Wholesale Purchasing
We offer wholesale prices to legitimate businesses. Proof of retail business is required. Shipping fees are the same for wholesale purchasing as for retail purchasing and is based on RETAIL value of the order.
